I was rolling in at the lumberyard on my bike today when I saw a parked bike that made my head swivel like a beautiful woman in a halter top. I parked nearby and walked back to say hi and ask the rider about his bike.
To my surprise it was a Kawasaki Versys just like this:
I had seen them in shops but tis one out in the sunshine really got my attention.
So my question is, what are your favorite non BMW bikes? _________________ Jim

That Versys is one great looking bike and has gotten great reviews as a real fun all around bike and it's less that $8K. I'd love to ride one see if it is as fun to ride as it looks.

Yeah, the Versys was/is definitely on my short list. I loved my KLR, and in some ways I think of it as a more refined version. Heavier, for sure, but about the same height, with a twin and similar riding position and leverage.
They haven't been around long enough to be available used in my price range. Which is just as well, because by the time I start riding again, there will be 20 year-old models available.
You know, like my SilverWing. Or Concours.
If only everyone rode instead of caging..... _________________ 1993 K1100RS

Which are OK looking, but kinda' heavy and tame-sounding:

Guess I just have a jones for V-4. If it can't be a Desmosedici, I'll lust for a well-ventilated Honda ST. _________________ tlp
