I was rolling in at the lumberyard on my bike today when I saw a parked bike that made my head swivel like a beautiful woman in a halter top. I parked nearby and walked back to say hi and ask the rider about his bike.
To my surprise it was a Kawasaki Versys just like this:

I had seen them in shops but tis one out in the sunshine really got my attention.
So my question is, what are your favorite non BMW bikes?

That Versys is one great looking bike and has gotten great reviews as a real fun all around bike and it's less that $8K. I'd love to ride one see if it is as fun to ride as it looks.

Yeah, the Versys was/is definitely on my short list. I loved my KLR, and in some ways I think of it as a more refined version. Heavier, for sure, but about the same height, with a twin and similar riding position and leverage.

They haven't been around long enough to be available used in my price range. Which is just as well, because by the time I start riding again, there will be 20 year-old models available.

You know, like my SilverWing. Or Concours.

If only everyone rode instead of caging.....

Which are OK looking, but kinda' heavy and tame-sounding:

THIS is the way to go:

Guess I just have a jones for V-4. If it can't be a Desmosedici, I'll lust for a well-ventilated Honda ST.

My favorite non-BMW is a bike I am fortunate enough to own. [/img]
