I just got off from a short ride (45 min) and went back out to the garage for something and heard a humming, more like a whining noise from the bike. I tried turning the key off and on. The noise would stop and then later start up again. '
The front fork seals have just been replaced so the brakes and ABS were disconnected and reconnected.
Can't figure it out.

Maybe a faulty fuel pump relay? (Wild guess.)
Put your ear to the gas tank - mid way along the left side.
K bikes were referred to by non-K owners as "K whiners" because of the sound the fuel pump makes. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Sounds like you still have the one-way valve in the fuel tank vent line. It will vent once the pressure is up to about 2psi. Open the fuel cap when you hear this noise, it'll stop.
