There may be no perceptible slack, but brake pads and a rotating wheel are a lot more persuasive than human fingers . _________________

I haven't taken one apart yet but if I understand the principle, it's that the spring bobbins take up the slack to prevent rattles, not to introduce play. _________________ Jim

Hi,
Regardless what is said on this forum (and everything you read on the internet is correct, right?), the REALOEM parts list for the European K1100LT shows 6 spring bobbins and ? (more than 9) regular bobbins. The Euro and USA K1100 bikes BOTH left the factory with 6 spring bobbins and 18 plain bobbins in the brakes (3 spring and 9 regular per side).
