There may be no perceptible slack, but brake pads and a rotating wheel are a lot more persuasive than human fingers Very Happy .

I haven't taken one apart yet but if I understand the principle, it's that the spring bobbins take up the slack to prevent rattles, not to introduce play.

Hi,
Regardless what is said on this forum (and everything you read on the internet is correct, right?), the REALOEM parts list for the European K1100LT shows 6 spring bobbins and ? (more than 9) regular bobbins. The Euro and USA K1100 bikes BOTH left the factory with 6 spring bobbins and 18 plain bobbins in the brakes (3 spring and 9 regular per side).
Ride Safe,
