Put on new tyres...
Brake binding on LH caliper and ABS acting funny.
Bottom line .....new discs n pads.
Test drive to bed in, seemed good but then after braking
to slow down then braked and no front brake then suddenly
locked on. Repeated this.
Checked sensor - the space was excessive.
I took off 2 shims but haven't tested it yet.
What is affect of too big a gap at sensor?
Thanks in advance _________________ 1994 K1100 LTSE + Blackbird |

Well, too large(wide) of a gap can cause the ABS to not "calibrate" when rolling out and giving you alternating flashing fault lights.
Not to assume, what is your brake fluid level in the sight glass of the MC. Is it above the window?
When was the last time you did a full brake fluid flush.
When you re-installed the wheel axle shaft thru the forks, did you tighten the end bolt 1st, then thump the bottoms of the forks(I use a rubber mallet) to let them self 'align' before you tightened the 2 fork bolts? (it help the upper/lower parts of the fork to align to each other to reduce friction wear of the internal brass bushings) DAMHIK.... _________________ Ride safe.

If your front brake is locking then it may be that a line has broken down internally and is clogging things. A failed or too much gap ABS sensor won't cause that to happen.
It may be time for a refit to new or stainless braided brake lines. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
