Is this for real? Did BMW make a "communication system" or intercom for the K1100LT?

Because I cannot find any mention of this in the owner's or maintenance manual.

Turns out it is not an intercom and it is not for the K1100. It's the voice/audio radio interface for the K1200 police model, which explains why it's not exactly well documented.
