Because I cannot find any mention of this in the owner's or maintenance manual.
Turns out it is not an intercom and it is not for the K1100. It's the voice/audio radio interface for the K1200 police model, which explains why it's not exactly well documented. _________________ To err once is human. To do so repeatedly is incompetence.
