|
|
It has been years since I've posted (or viewed) this forum. I still have my 94 K1100 LT but have not ridden much AT ALL. This year I'm trying to get the bike ready for some riding. My electronic windshield has not been working great so today I took off the dash to lube the rails with silicon. Once opened, I saw that one of my springs, that helps the windshield down was broken. I used to buy parts through Chicago BMW but cannot find their website.
Any thoughts on where I can get another spring? I have not yet tried a hardware store. I'd rather oem, because that's how I roll.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Chicago BMW went out of business back in 2011, I believe. Chicago area BMW dealer is now:

Thank you!
I actually just bent a new end on my existing spring. I'll see how that works.
Do you know where in the manual it shows the foam blocks that help redirect the engine heat? I know I have a part somewhere in my garage and need to find it and get it back on my bike. My left leg gets soo hot! _________________ "Still can't find 6th gear" 94 K1100LT |

Stuart - look at diagram Diagram #11_1829 in the fiche:
http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=51711&rnd=07012015
Section 11 is the engine section - you can easily find the diagram.
I think for what they cost, I'd probably replace both springs - that bike has a few years on it... _________________ Jim
