Hey Guys, I have another question with my cafe racer build for my 1994 k1100lt. If possible I would like to use a K rear cowl as you can see in my pic I currently have a K1100 tail, my aim is to move the tail slight closer to the tank. I really like the angles on the current tail but I believe when I move it closer to the tank it is going to look to big. So my question is are any of the Tails for K models maybe older k100 or k75 smaller in size but would still fit. I would then have the seat custom made to fit. Any help would be great, Thanks

So...this may not be helpful...but when I have looked at my bike and considered what you are doing, I also thought I would like to save the tailpiece but move it. I think it would have to be surgically narrowed and the parts that reach forward to the side covers would have to be altered.
It's a bunch of fiberglass work...but would look killer if done right.
I'm liking your build. Keep posting updates!!!

Hey Jay,

Yeh i think it would look awesome. Iv been thinking for a while of going down the surgical route, it definitely is to wide at the moment. Be great if anybody knows if the k75 tails are any smaller.

The K75 tail is similar in dimension to the K100 tail. This cafe build shortened and then turned the standard K100 tail upwards to get the contoured seat and shorter tail you're seeking.

That is a sweet cafe...headlight is weird, should have stuck with a classic round.
