Inge K, thank you for the link to the picture. As to the relay; in the past, I have taken apart the starter relay (after it got welded shut due to low amperage on the battery) and just used a fine file to smooth out the contact points. Any reason why that same method wouldn't work on the ABS relay? I'll have to use silicon to reseal the unit. _________________ 96' K1100RS/SE Blk-Sil Euro ed. |

Same metod should be good on this relay, too.
But I would rather used fine emery paper/cloth so you don't score the contacts that easily....depending on how bad the contacts is burnt.
It also would be easier to get the contact areas even and parallell.
Use compressed air to clean, so you are shure to remove all metal dust.
Also check all contacts, relay terminals, socket contacts, eyelet terminals and connection to the battery......thightness and cleanliness
so you don't have a voltage drop between the battery and relay. |

FYI, for those of you who have ABS Mod. II, non power assisted, I found an interesting pictorial:

I found it quite informative, but then again I don't know all that much!
