Gidday Fellas,
Quick question thrown out to you all about my 12 month on again , off again fact finding mission regarding with my ABS 2.
The connector plugs for my rear ABS 2 which sits roughly next to the right side-panel, if I brought new plastic joining plugs can they be re- soldered onto the existing wires or are the wires to fine to do.?
The reason being that the plastic clip/housing is all cracked and sits a little loosely when joined together.
Also the rear ABS 2 wire with the plug attachment that vanishes as it goes under the tank area towards the main brain/controller, can this be replaced only and what does it go into?, it is easy to pull off at the main controller end? or is it hard wired in place? and are new ones available?
This is the last resort for my ABS 2 failure as the rear sensor code always reads when I test it and I have installed 3 rear sensors and get the same result..
Any info would be great!
Talk to you soon _________________ Cheers Grant

I would not hesitate to replace that connnect. However, I would recommend that you use a weather-proof connector. Better yet, I would just solder each wire to it's corresponding mate and cover with heatshrink.
If you ever pull the rear drive apart, you'll have to pull the sensor off the wheel or cut the wires, But you'll have guaranteed connections.

I can't remember off-hand, but I'm pretty sure there is a connector there on that controller end.
I would not mess with that connector until you've addressed the dodgey one and then only if that doesn't cure the problem.

At least from what I've seen (except for the very early Ks), US bikes seem to be built for the next model year after August of the previous year when all of Europe takes a three week vacation. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
