I am new to K bikes as I have just purchased a '94 K1100LS. ( I have ridden airheads since '72) The front tire was cupped and worn so I replaced it. It now vibrates at 60 and over MPH. The tire was 'bubble' balanced. I drained and refilled the front shocks with 10 wt oil. I put a dial indicator on the out side of the rim and I have a variance of .020 in on the r/t side and over .040 on the l/h side. There is no leaking from struts and no marks on the rim.
Can the K brain trust give me some direction? There is no link on the 3 spoke wheel straighting tech download.

I found this thread:
http://k11og.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11564&highlight=straightening
which leads to this:

I'm no expert, but .020 and .040" don't sound like much of a variance to me. I'd look at have it checked for balance.
BTW, what is "bubble balanced"?

Bill

A bubble balance is a static balance. I am giong to remove the wheel and find a dynamic balance to elinimate the tire wheel issues.
