Looking for a stock seat. I've got a Corbin Canyon sport (I think) and I'm looking for something with a flatter passenger platform for my wife. Sound familiar?

I'm thinking I should try a stock seat and, if that doesn't work, get Seargent to rebuild it. So, anyone have a stock seat for my '93? For that matter, anyone know which model seats fit? My understanding is that the early K1100 seats are different from the large ones.

Thanks,

Sam

Sam,

We have 2 Corbins. A Dual Sport and a Dual Tour

My one up favorite is the Dual Sport.

But having had a K bike stock seat, a K bike "comfort" seat (it is NOT) and the Dual Sport- Cathy finds our Corbin Dual Tour the most comfortable. We have the Corbin backrest for her and she likes it so much better that the funky rest on our previous 22L topbox.

Good luck. I'll PM you.

John

It turns out is have a Corbin KDT86 - the dual tour. So, thanks, John, but I think I'm starting off with your preferred 2 up option. I may have to try a backrest and see if that helps.

Re Ebay seats - there seems to be a lot of covers, but not a lot of basic, clean stock seats. That is, unless the early K100 seats are the same, but I'm unsure of that. Am I unrealistic thinking I should be able to get a decent but imperfect seat for ~100.00?

On Corbin's site, they indicate that from '86 onward- all their K bike seats are interchangeable.

The backrest that can actually be leaned back on makes a huge difference for passenger comfort.

Located in California, looks good on a 54,000 mile bike that I have just taken appart. Let me know if you want a photo, not sure how to do on this web site. Can come with hinges, brackets or how you want to make changing back and forth easier.

This is not a comfort seat, BMW stock. I have owned several K100RS bikes and seams the same to me. Only the 1985 seat would not work.

All 86+ Corbins will work on a K75/K100/K1100 with the early seat hinges.

The later (think 94+) OEM seats will work but have a seat pan that needs the rubberized hinges (or 1/2" spacers) on the right side hinges.
