She must have gotten news about a problem on I-94 in Montana and taken a detour.
Gwen does have a CB radio onboard via a J&M handlebar system so maybe she found out that way. Or got the info at a gas stop. _________________ John & Cathy

Re the break in Chicago, there's 2 placemarkers together just to the left and slightly below Chicago in the screenshot. Either a fuel stop or a 10 minute traffic hold up!Hopefully the former. #42 and 43. _________________ K1100RS '97

She's carrying enough fuel for a 400 mile/650 km range (although IBR rules dictate stops before 350 miles) so refueling 2 tanks and a bathroom break could easily take 10+ minutes.
I'm not going to even try to guess where/when she will finally stop. _________________ John & Cathy

G'Afternoon all..
I'm now back to NH from my weeks tour in the Canadian Maritimes.. and able to track Shogs now ! Her nearly uninterupted run from Eastport to Billings I believe would put any of us to shame... what a terrific feat of will and machine. I rode the same roads from Eastport ( failed meeting with Gwen ) to Portland ME twice this week and I've got sore buns just from that !!...ie: her posterior will be glad to see the Pacific eh?
Shes got another 12 hours yet to dip that tire in the Pacific, but looks like she'll do it with time to spare. Wish we could all be there to salute her arrival with a 'cold one' or in Drikko's case several cold ones !
Go Gwen.... cant hear the cheering yet ,.... but you will !!
Regards all, ride safe........// Ernie in NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

That is the truth!
I can't even imagine the agony of riding that far, for so many hours.
After 8-9 hours or about 500 miles, I'm done!
I am in awe of her stamina...
She's coming down the home stretch! _________________ Steve

OK... Does anyone know where the hell LaPush WA is located ??,,and did she choose it because there may be access to the beach ?? There's nowhere that I know of in Eastport that is closer than a 15 foot drop to the water..I mean its a Port after all, so couldnt start this run with a rear wheel ( as Scott says ) in the Atlantic..
Looking at her schedule to return.... think I'll try to get back to Eastport for her arrival on the 9th, if thats still planned.. maybe bring some K11OG Champagne from all of us !! Just a thought, anybody else wanna go ??
Regards.....// Ernie in NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

There's bound to be a boat ramp there I would reckon.
There you go, beaches boat ramps etc

I had the boat ramp thought too, but have you been walking on one lately, those things are slick as snot and I couldn't imagine angling a 600 lb bike down one and safely back up and out with out dropping it.
It would be a crappy way to start or finish your ride! _________________ Steve

Check out https://maps.google.com/
La Push is the western farthest point according to IBA.
BTW, I don't know that ocean-front-wheel-dunk is needed. I think it is just eastern-most town to western-most town.
But Shogs is ALMOST there. Holee CRAP!

I wasn't trying to infer that she actually needed to do it.
It's an Iowa thing here. We have RAGBRAI (Registers Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) here every year. It starts on the western boarder of Iowa at the Missouri River with a rear tire dip and ends on the eastern side of Iowa at the Mississippi with a front tire dip. The ride lasts a full week.
This years ride just finished last Saturday.
Ohh and we are talking about BICYCLE'S here.......a whole lot less weight..... _________________ Ride safe.
