This has to be a new high for old.

BMW K100RS 1987 Used
$8,900

28351 miles
WHITE
NH Store
VIN: 0043640

http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/machine/details.aspx?ID=4657

Yeah it's a dealer and the bike is "motorsports colors" but just under 9 grand???

Are K bikes becoming the new classic? Or is this just a typical stab in the dark by the folks at Max?

Running a Remus and a non stock seat as well as the progresive shock. Dealers descriptions huh? Very Happy

Could be that the Bricks are holding their value because their follow-up bike the K12/1300GTs are the worse BMWs ever made.

I have the article on my '87....it was $8,200. base price...and based on the article it was one of the "most expensive production motorcycle ever made"!!

I dont know it thats true, but with all the options: motorsport paint, heated grips, side bags and top case.. it did push it near the 10k$ mark and that was a lot for a bike in 87....

one of the most prolific quotes in the Cycle magazine article is: "Here's singularity, polish and enough pearlescent flash to see you through the next ten years....and the next."

anyway, that seems like a lot of $ for a 25 yr old bike....but ive been told they only made 500 of the motorsports models, so maybe it has some value for being a special model...me i always just liked the way it looked.
