can some one help me find the post that talked about the size of the driveshaft u-joints?
I did some surches but cant seem to bring it up.

Keith,

The U-joints on our driveshafts aren't very serviceable, they are "staked" into place.

Early this year I needed the front U-joint replaced, the rear was good and tight with no excess play.

Guy Hendersen http://www.hendersenprecision.com/indian_moto/bmw_products.html agreed to do mine- he normally just does Airhead BMWs.

What I received back was very good. The new U-joint has a zerk grease fitting and the joint is now held in place with internal circlips, so if (heaven forbid) I ever have to replace it, I could just install the U-joint myself.

IIRC, it ran me about $190.

I just need to talk to a driveshaft guy to see how much force it takes to press it out and press a new one in and " stake" it in place!
They made it,it can be fixed!
