Right.
The battery was dead (1.78 V) and I installed a new Bosch 51913 yesterday.
Took the bike on a trailer to my trusted BMW mechanic today and he
- checked the valve clearances
- balanced throttle bodies
- adjusted CO to appr. 3.5% - had factory setting which is l-e-a-n
- changed clutch cable just in case
Bike ran OK before but now it runs perfect with 56000 kilometers on the clock.
I have the touring saddle in the garage waiting to be installed. Need to change the fluids ie. Valvoline VR1 20W-50 mineral oil and Mahle OC91 filter for the engine and some synthetic GL-5 for transmission and final drive. Plugs, rest of the filters and brake pads are practically new.
Just need to install the Tomtom Urban rider and I'm set for The Trip: I'm heading to the Alps and southern Europe for two to three weeks sometime at the end of April trying to escape the half century celebrations.
Have I said that I love this bike!

Here's the mapped course of my 4991 km trip.
The most southern point G was Imst in Austria. That's where I took the mountain photo above.
These bikes are great! _________________ K1100LT -93 | ex K1100LT/SE -94 |
