Hello all! Proud new owner of a 1994 K1100 LT. Just got back tonight from El Paso Texas 1500 mile round trip to pick it up. Palmetta Green Metallic, is that right? Met THE PO there he came from Mesa Arizona with the bike. It is gorgeous, gave $2,600 for it 52,000 miles new clutch head bearings & fuel lines, maybe 2,000 miles left on metzlers, all bags & inner bags including tank bag. Throttlemeister, working radio, heated grips. I am in love, it purrs, growls! Dropped it first time I rode it! Got that over with firsthing, now I will pay serious attention to tarmack gradients when stopping! Some people may think I am crazy for buying this bike as I am disabled. I have spinal cord damage in my neck and lower back, but I have to have a reason to get off the couch, or someone will come and find my corpse there. I will have to exersize to get the strength back in my legs, so I can handle the bike, but I WILL DO IT! My room mate just bought a 92 R100RT & I think it is the same color, but his is in the shop getting new upper fork tubes, people say the color is teal, turkisgruen? Anyway I have a riding buddy now and as soon as his bike is out of the shop we are heading on our first trip to Shreveport about 250 miles one way. Wish me luck.
Neal

Well, you'll get a warm WELCOME anyway!

I venture to say that many of us have dropped a K or two.... Laughing

Best of luck with the bike.

John

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Hi Neal....

WELCOME aboard ! You'll love the "K" and all of its idiosyncracies !! (sp?)
As others have noted, we have all dropped the "K" at one time or another, my first drop was in full view of the K11OG group at the HMSP-3 meet-up in Virginia.. embarrassing ?? YES, but you do get over it ! Send us a pic or two..

Have fun and good luck...stay active here with all your questions !

Hi Neal,

Just to give you some encouragement, I too have spinal cord damage thanks to a crash at 18 which has left me partially paralysed from the waist. 31 years later I have my second LT I ride everyday all year round. And I've had heavier bikes as well, a K1200LT and a R1200RT.

Hope you enjoy the bike and you get fitter.

Hi, Neal . . . and welcome.

Look under the seat for the 3 digit paint code. If it's 707, then the color is "moreagruen" Same as mine! Smile

We didn't make the Rally, my roommate didn't get his bike back in time. It's okay gives us a little more time to gather up gear! I sold my 88 Lotus Turbo Esprite on ebay, the guy says he wants to buy my other cars, so I can get out of the house sooner & get moved into my bus! Yeah![/quote]
