Well been having a couple of problems this week.First i have an oil leak which appears to be coming from one of the 3 bolts that holds the oil filter cover in,and when i hit the start button the starter motor just spins!! if i keep trying it will catch and start but its happened before and i dont want to be left stranded.Has anyone had this hapeen on there k ? is it a commen fault. This is how it repays me after i give it a full service haha.

Quite common fault on old K`s, that the starter sprag clutch is slipping.
Search the net with the words sprag clutch+K100, and you would find heaps of info.

Unfortunately it's a too common problem... You can try adding half a liter of gasoil to the oil and running the engine for 30 minutes idle and occasionnaly faster, starting several times to clean it, then drain.

Since K100 days we have been doing a Engine Flush treatment every second standard oil change & now with Syn Oil which is 1 year no matter the k's we do this flush each time.
The 1 we are using now is Wynn's Engine Flush Professional Formula. Made in USA Product No 65901 325 ml.
We heat engine after say a 3 klm run.Put in hole bottle than ride home at low revs only.Drop oil plus change filter.If that did not work strip & clean.Used since 84.
Have only every done K100's here in South Aus.

Thanks for the replys, shame i have just changed the oil and genuine filter aswell.I bought some wynns yesterday so will give it a try next week.Lets hope it works
