Someone here in town is selling a 1975 Moto Guzzi 850T that needs some work. It has 75,000 miles on it. I was thinking of getting it and turning it into a cafe racer. Not being familiar with Guzzis I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them and if they have any thoughts or advice.
Thanks, _________________ Rich

I would brouse the various Guzzi forums first.
Ask about mods; spares; maint records/receipts etc.
Some one must have been a Guzzi hands on person to put that many miles
on. And yes they will run a long time but just like the BMW airheads they
require lots of time and $$$$ to bring the old ones back.
Heres my last Guzzi: 1996 Sport 1100
Had a great motor, front brakes, suspension - fair gearbox, electrics - poor
comfort (high pegs & low bars) Still a fun bike in the hills for an hour or two.
