Well today i changed my air filter on the lt.How can something so simple be made so difficult?anyway idid a search on here and couldnt find a lot of info apart from how hard they were to change. So i had a good look at how it could be made easier. I removed crash bar and lower fairing for better access and after releasing the 3 clips i tryed to remove the filter with out success,so i removed the main fairing support bracket to allow the filter box to move forward a little and allowing me to turn it a little.there is hardly any room to lift the air box up so i put a long flat screwdriver at the rear corner furthest away from me and once you lift that corner it comes straight out.putting the new one in was easy,I never moved any pipes or cables that run above the air box just one clip at the rear of the airbox, maybe the air temp sensor i think.Anyway thought i would post this as im sure it could help someone out.

Hi, Mikey,
Yes, they are a PITA to change. That's why it's so nice that they are good for 50k miles, maybe even 100k. Every maybe 20k I take mine out, tap it on the concrete driveway, maybe blow it out with compressed air, then reinstall it. It's just as difficult with the K75RT as it is with a K1100. The K75 is a bit easier. I don't have to remove a fairing lower.
