As a kid I was told about a trick played by the local trawlermen.
They would get a small piece of calcium carbide and sweeze it into a piece of bread. Then throw it into the air for a sea gull to grap.
Supposibly the calcium carbide produces acetylene, the pressure builds up in its stomach till it explodes in mid air  _________________ ******************************
