Just putting on the panniers to go for ferry when I noticed the bracket for the top box had cracked both sides. Strips of plastic guttering and 4 bolts each side got me going. Drilling hole in top of finger didn't help much.

Are there aftermarket metal brackets??

Well I was off to stay over for the early ferry next day.
Went to 60th BMW club rally in UK.
Also went to m cycle museum in Birmingham.
don't know how many hundred bikes they have.

Al.

Between the overheating and the top box issue, you are not having a fun time, eh?

Hope your travels are fun, no matter what happens.

John

K11 top-case bracket? It is usual that it cracks if top-case is quite loaded (even though I have transported a gearbox in it once without bracking the bracket itself but the fixation on the frame), one good option is to reinforce it with metal. To my knowledge, no ready made metal alternative.
Do you have any picture of the cracks?
