Hello. I'm new to BMW Bikes and recently purchased a 1993 K1100LT. Love the Bike, Don't know why I waited so long.
The only problem with the Bike so far is when Down shifting when coming to a stop. After is is warmed up it will stall when you make the shift from 3-4 ( sometimes ) and 3-2-1 everytime unless you hold RPM higher.
I started riding 1980 and have lost count of howmany Bikes Ive owned and Driven so i hope its not my riding style. Idle is 1000 rpm when at normal orperating temp.
It had a Stumble around the 2-3000 RPM range ( Loose Plub boot on #4 Spark Plug) that I think is solved.

Welcome to the forum!
Sounds like this might be a fun one to chase down.
I would start by checking the sidestand switch. It will kill the engine when it's in gear and the clutch is released. You might even disconnect it and take 'er for a spin just for giggles.

What is your idle rpm when the bike is warmed up? Should be around 950 +/- 50. _________________ Ride safe.

You Guys are gonna Laugh, I thought I would start by looking at the plugs. and going of for a Cooler range.
What I found was Number 3 -4 boot was loose on the Plug. Changed the Plugs pushed the Boots on all the way( they were a bit loose so I Crimped the metal shroud a bit ) I took it for a 700KM moutain ride yesterday and seems fine. Funning thing it runs better on 4 Cylinders. _________________ A perfect day is Anyday Spent on your Motorcycle.
