We just got back to San Diego CA from the MOA National in Bloomsburg PA. A very HOT ride. We pull a 300 + lb trailer and are 2 up. I have a 3 core radator and fan switch installed and the coolant temp gauge stays at mid point until about 90 degrees outside temp and then starts going up. We experienced lots of 95 deg and up temps onthe ride both directions. Going out I noticed a lot of tank pressure when I opened the tank filler I saw bubbles coming out of the fuel lines at the pump and filter. I thought maybe I had a bad filter so I replaced it with one I had with me. I also cut off about a 1/2" of the the line on both ends as they were deteriorated. Still got bubbles when hot. On the way back I replaced the fuel line with new line. No leaks at the hoses now but when hot the bubbles (many) are coming out of the bottom of the tank. Is the gas boiling ? The bike runs fine just bubbles when hot. Now what ? Insulate the fuel lines ? install a gas cooler ? Anybody ever have a similar problem ?

Jim,

I have posted here more than once about thinking of installing a gas line cooler to keep my knees from heating up.

Gasoline can boil at 100 degrees F depending on the additives it has in it. I'd bet it was boiling. Do you have a "Johnny Blanket" ?
I'll bet San Diego's weather will feel better than ever after this trip!
