|
|
Just wondering if anyone knows if it matters which fuel pipe from the tank goes to which fuel rail? - I decided to change one of the fuel lines to the fuel rail but I've lost my diagram, I have a terrible short term memory, and I'm not sure whether the line to the left fuel rail goes to the front most fuel outlet or the rear one. The line that I replaced was the one which had the clip without the screw adjustment.
it just seems that the line from the innermost, least accessible fuel rail has to stretch considerably to go to the front fuel outlet, but if that is the case it is probably partly why the heat insulation on left side broke.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it does make a difference which line goes where.
The front line of the tank is the return line from the fuel pressure regulator.
The rear line is the fuel supply line to the fuel rail. _________________ Ride safe.

OK, it's good to know that it is important, it would equally good to know which way round they connect. One fuel line is disconnected at the fuel rail, the other which disappears into the bowels of the engine disconnects at the tank. I thought I remembered that the line that disconnected at the tank and went into the engine had come off the front fuel outlet, and one that disconnected from the accessible fuel rail was attached to the rear fuel outlet. The problem was that for the longer line to connect to the front outlet it seemed to be a bit of a stretch.
Anyway with the new fuel line fitted I've connected them up as I remember and the bike starts. I wonder if, as the tank has been off for7 or 8 weeks, the pipe might have shrunk in length? _________________

The other indicator is if you look at the outlets, the front one is far more accessible to undo a clip than the rear one, which is partly obstructed by the lower edge of the tank - so it makes sense that the line disappears between the engine would disconnect at the tank, from the front fuel outlet. Elementary my dear Watson. But thanks for the reply. _________________
