Hello all....
My Internet connection has been down, so I was remiss yesterday in wishing ALL our Canadian "K11OG" memebers in Canada, and their families, a very enjoyable CANADA DAY !! 1 July 2011...
Here in the "States" we have this weekend as well to celebrate our Independence Day... 4 July 2011...
So on both sides of our very long mutual border, from Maine to BC, I hope EVERYONE will enjoy a safe, sane, holiday weekend whether on "2 wheels" or "4"...

on Vancouver Island,friday at noon a women crossed the centreline in her intoxicated state and hit a motorcycle head on,killed him instantly and shut down the highway half a day,she was released from hospital with minor injuries into the custody of the RCMP,a very sad way to start the weekend,RIP

Hi Jeeves...
Sad event indeed... I dont know if they have "Vehicular homicide" in Canada.. but here she would probably only get a DUI charge, suspended license, and community service ! It seems that society doesnt care too much when we "on 2 wheels" get injured or killed. So much for "safe and sane",,eh?

not sure what they call it maybe negligence causing death and in a similar negligence causing death recently in Vancouver and the intoxicated driver did get jail time (something paultry) but not fitting the "crime"
