It was an eventful day today in Chattanooga.

I pressed the button on my remote start and the RS fired right off. Same as it has for the last 15 years. Then without warning smoke started coming from the steering yoke and the battery cover. I pressed the remote stop button but it continued to run. When I approached to pull the wires off the battery it erupted in flames.

By the time the hotel worker arrived with a fire extinguisher the RS was completely engulfed in flames. By the time the Fire Department arrived only metal was left. Everything from the tires up was melted into a glob of goo.

I'm flying back to Palm Springs tomorrow to secure another motorcycle and continue to Hungry Mother.

at least if he gets the k16 before leaving again, everyone will be able to get a first hand account on its quality and performance.

still sad to hear about another k11 biting the dust.

So I am riding this weekend but not to HM, instead I am going the opposite direction to Saratoga Springs, NY for my niece's college graduation. Turns out I have a half day on Friday because of the Prom. Enjoy all, maybe one day I will be able to get down there.

A little delay here, but Jen and I had a pretty smooth trip getting to HM IV. Bit of rain off and on for the last 3+ hours on I-81 but otherwise clear sailing.

For the longest MC trip she has ever done, Jen has been a really great partner to ride alongside. Not one complaint from her.

A few pictures of our trip here.

Leaving Newtown, Ct where my sister lives

Pit stop in Port Jervis, NJ

Up on Skyline Drive, Va.

Two riders heading to Marion, Va (yes, Jen's bike is behind mine)

Now we start day 3 here, one more group ride today Very Happy

Everyone who couldn't get here- wish you were.

More to come from everyone.........

John & Jen

Good to hear 1/2 of the Sugarhill clan made it down. Phil called me last night...spoke to him for a bit and Sean too. Phil threatened to visit me in CA and make Spaghetti....I'm changing my address and phone number. Razz

Word on the street here in Modesto, CA is that an epic force of unstoppable cheeseburger Apocalypse power, a pillar of grilled-flesh eating manhood, a sidewall-wearing-down behemoth of brick-riding sexiness is in town.

Yes, I've been a Californian for less than 3 weeks and might run into Jo. I spoke to some people who know some people who robbed some people and they said he was in Modesto.

East vs West.
Godzilla vs......Godzilla.
Matter vs Antimatter.
Wolverine vs Sabertooth.
Yeti vs Bigfoot.

Ahh, you get the idea. It could happen.
I shot him a few PMs on ADV trying to arrange a showdown in the town square followed by much flesh-eating and cigar-smoking. Have not heard back yet. Crying or Very sad

If any of you grinning idiots have Jos phone number, shoot me a PM with it, or shoot him my #. I'd like to meet the legend and pop a few caps in his ass, share a taco at my favorite truck.

Have fun, ya FFs!!! Take lots of pictures!!
