Thanks, will do. liked the old ones better, didn't have a computer til 06, so I just rode them 5-6k and took em in for service. they were BMW's and everyone knows those don't break down, lol.
Now I've got a couple of Clymers, a Haynes or two, handful of mostly airhead tools, Bum's site bookmarked yada yada.
Got the airhead settled in, needed another hole in the road to pitch money in so went w/ the long slobbered after K bike. _________________ '81 R 100T/S

Got a few bugs to work out, has a throaty after market exhaust that seems to say "feed me".
I'm not getting very good gas mileage, but can't keep my wrist out of the injectors to give it an honest test.
Much more comfortable than the airhead which had taken me to Mo, Ks, Nb, La in last 6 weeks.
I'm waiting on latches for the bags to head out on it. Thanks for asking. _________________ '81 R 100T/S

When I bought my K1100RS, it had a Remus header on it. Too noisy, so I sold it and put on a nice quiet stock muffler. Gas mileage is definitely affected with a heavy hand on the throttle.
It took me a while to adjust to the new bike. What really helped was taking off the bar-backs and getting the bars back to stock location. Adding Grip Puppies on the hand grips helped too.
Sounds like you've been out carving along the roads the past few weeks. Good timing before the summer heat ratchets up. _________________

I filled up today, got about 37+ on last tank. 7L and 4L lights seem to be real close together, but have read of a fix for that. Think bike sat since March trip to PO's dealer, so needs some miles to sort out problems.
Bags were frankened up, I can't use them yet. Two keyed latches on one bag, none on other, no frame latch on one. No keys that fit them, drilled rivets by sliding the hinges off bottoms.
I'm used to the bigger tank on airhead and two petcock reserve trick, it's good for 240 miles w/ 6 gal tank.
My trip to Neb was to ride shotgun on a hack delivery to Neb. Buddy sold and delivered his there. Ks was brutal crosswind both ways. Hack was all over the lanes past 50-55mph, mine hates 55 wants 4th gear up to about 58-60 for 5th.
'The K is pleasant at 40 mph in 5th Put new mezt 880'son K found a bent front wheel, was dickering a bit w/ Woodys, but found a straight used one a tad cheaper, waiting on it to show up,
I don't wrench much, but have local shop that sells used and built Harleys and the other mech w/30 yrs experience does metric work. Real impressed w/ him, he goes off the clock to study, only charges when he's actually wrenching, then up to 35$ per hour. He once drove all the way to my house from his 50 miles in a mini blizzard cause he forgot the two screws on bottom of carbs on airhed when he vacuum set the sync
Going to have him go thru it, do spline lubes [both] check valve clearances, rubber bits, ect
His labor est is 300, my security priceless. Inside of gas tank is pristine.
That was my plan on purchase and so paid accordingly. _________________ '81 R 100T/S
