Riding weather is slowly arriving here in Southern Ohio, and I’m trying to get the LT in shape to take some day trips.

The ABS has been out for two years, and aside from the red light on the tach, it hasn’t been missed. Since it’s raining today, I pulled out a 12V LED with leads that I made up over the winter and decided to see what the readout on the ABS brain said. Putting the LED between the middle port of the diagnostic plug and the battery got me zip, no blips at all. I tested the LED across the battery, and it's fine.

What am I doing wrong? Or should I just put the black tape back over the ABS light?

Is it a 12V LED?
Did you try between ABS diagnostic pin and ground?
Do you have a voltmeter too?

Yup, it's a 12-volter

I put it between the middle port and the battery positive post.

Make sure you have the polarity of the LED correct. LED's have a positive and negative lead and will only light up if connected correctly.

Also some LED's need a current limiting resistor in series or they burn out the first time you hook them up.

Still nothing.

What if the ABS relay is out? Would that do it?

Fellow K-rider here in town suggested that I have an Agnostic port.

Thoughts?
