These were an option available for the R series, they fitted in place of the air vents and were operated by a lever system fitted in the fairing pockets. One side is a fog light with the other side being a spot light.
They weren't too common a sight here in the UK either i only saw about 6 bikes with them fitted. _________________ Fat Ba***d with a K1100LTse

Extremely bad taste, how can anyone fit something like this to a bike and think it does anything other than make it look hideous. _________________ Riding a 1995 Marakesh red K1100rs

It's most endearing feature was you can sling a 44 gallon drum in the boot (trunk for the seps). Other than that it was as reliable as a 2 bob watch and the chassis ruster out faster than a tin can at the beach! _________________ K1100RS '97

Well, according to next doors cat, it is a little known fact that British Leyland, or Leyland, whichever you prefer, were invented by a magician.
Over a period of time, when most self respecting cats are curled up by any available heat, called 'Winter', the cars would turn mottled orange. A miracle in itself if you had a black car!!.
If you touched one of these orange patches, it would disappear into thin air allowing the proud owner to see what was behind it. incredible!!. Whole! street partys were arranged when this happened. It was nothing to do with Royal familys jubilees, weddings etc, that was just a cover story.
Next doors cat also said that this was around the time when dogs started getting called 'Rover',,,,,,.And were invented by someone called Austin!!.
I think I have just hijacked a thread, and yes, I have been round the pub.
Cheers.
Rich. _________________ 1993 K1100LTIC.

Hijack away my friend, I'd never heard of them till this post started with some very iffy looking lights on a brick. The Leyland P76 even won car of the year in 1973 in some car magazine somewhere. Apparently although it was a British Leyland car it was made in Australia. Anyway I would rather drive one of them than ride that vile looking K!! Never thought I'd say that. _________________ Riding a 1995 Marakesh red K1100rs

Haha, I think we all understood that Rich, as for them being made in Australia, possibly, but they were only ever made on Friday afternoons after all the workers had had a long wet lunch. They made Holdens and Fords all the other times. _________________ K1100RS '97
