Sorry, Michelin lists the RS as a 17" rear wheel.

Any road reports on this tire yet?
Also, curious when y'all think a set of tires is done for (aside from belts and a ground off nail visible through the worn rubber - been there)
I've got those Macadam 50's and there's definitely tread, but also definitely cupping on the front tire once you get off the centerline. In a car, at least in my rainy part of the world, you can let it go until the thing starts to hydroplane a touch in a downpour then you know you need new. Seems an imprudent way to decide in a bike _________________ 1997 K1100LT

No way. I run a PR2 160/60-18 RS rear on my LT. No clearance issues. Same final drive and swing arm as an RS. (except for the gear ratio of course ) |
+1, RS rear on my LT, with PR2's improved handling dramatically. _________________ 1997 K1100LT-SE

Well, I decided not to wait for the PR3's and got a set of the PR2's mounted up last week. 110/80zr-18 front and the wider 150/70zr-17 on the rear.
I've got about 300 miles on them and I like the handling so far. _________________ Ride safe.

Another week or two and I'll also be ordering a PR2 for the rear..
I've got the PR3 on the front, though...
Anyone see a problem with mixing a 3 front and a 2 rear? _________________ Bob T.

Not sure if you can get them in the States, but I have a pair of Continental Road Attack 2s on my '93 k1100RS, and I have never experienced a better tyre, handling, braking and superb cornering, its so predictable its like its literally"on rails". _________________ 1993(94 MODEL) K1100RS IN ASTRAL BLUE

I don't know what it is with me, karma and new tires.
3 yrs ago when I put new tires on the '97, picked up a nail at 200 miles.
Plugged it and ran it 2 yrs.
2 yrs ago ridden 2wks on a pr2 front on the '95. The Thursday before I leave for Hungry Lobster 1 rolled over a small piece of a broken coffee cup, flat, won't plug a front,(unless on the road in an emergency) replaced tire.
This year 2wks and 300 miles on the new pr2's, picked up another nail.
Plugged it and going to see how it wears. _________________ Ride safe.

No. But at work we are in the 3rd year of a 5yr construction/expansion project. Begins to make me wonder about riding to work.
Although I haven't picked up anything in my truck tires.
My habitual route to work does take me past a metal scrap yard.
Though I have been taking alternate routes to purposely avoid that area. _________________ Ride safe.

Sad News.
I've had a pair of Michelin Pilot Activ tyres fitted and because I've found them skittish in the wet, I thought that I would got back to Macadams 'cause they were a good all-rounder and great in the wet.
This is the reply from Michelin tyres:
Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your recent e-mail.
We would advise that for your BMW K1100 LT if on tyre sizes front 110/80 – R18 58V T/L (tubeless) and Rear 140/80 – R17 69V T/L. From our latest fitment guide (2011) the Michelin Pilot Activ is our only recommended fitment. With reference to the Michelin Macadam 50 unfortunately, they are no longer available, sorry.
Yours sincerely
Michelin Tyre Public Limited Company.
Dang!
So, being that British roads aren't the best in the wet, any recommendations?

Hi,
I've had great success with Michelin PR3 on the standard 18" front (standard size available and it's designed for the narrow rim) and an Avon Azaro on the standard 17" rear. Both are designed for the narrow rims and they work together really well.
However, the best bet is to fit RS wheels and then you can have PR3s front and rear.
