I know for a fact that my clutch housing on its own is not balanced as it would not stay upright when placed on my British Standard used tennis ball. It had to be matched with the housing cover before it would come close to balancing. So in my case the plates are not individually balanced, they only balance up when used in combination. _________________ '93 K1100LT (tatty and ex-police - the bike, not me!!.)

I didn't loose sleep and just put it back together, I suggest that these bike vibrate so much anyway... that you wont notice if you get it right or wrong |
My K11 vibrated so bad I couldnt ride while wearing false teeth.
When I changed to complete clutch out she was almost as smooth as my K75.
If it still had the original clutch...I'd be ripping it apart to et it balanced.
I think ts a brilliantly simple solution.

So you changed a friction plate or a complete clutch kit?
Either way, how can a spinning clutch, factory fitted decide to go "out of balance" prior to you teeth falling out? _________________ Luck is when planning and opportunity meet |
