I plan to replace my fork seals on my 1993 K1100LT. I have to mail order, as I have no dealer close by. Can anyone suggest a good source? Also, do the Pyramid seals, available on ebay, work as well. I seem to remember a member's comment on their being thicker. What effect does that have? Also, does anyone know the correct model of Rancho fork boots for the k1100LT?
Thanks, brent

Brent - don't even bother with the Pyramid seals - get OEM. No one here has had any success with Pyramid (that I know of).

A search for "rancho" indicates people are probably using 1952 boots.

Thanks. I'm just trying to find a source for the OEM's. Bob's want $35 for the seals, which isn't that bad, but also adds $30 for shipping. I did find a local bargain on the Ranchos, at $5.99 each, through Napa Auto Parts here in small town Canada.

I think Max and A & S are always going to beat Bob on price - and probably shipping, too. Hell, for that matter, I could order what you want and ship it for less. Let me know.

Thanks for the offer Jim. Very kind. Bob's was going to cost me $65. I ended up ordering from Motobins in the UK. It was the same item and with shipping was only $32. I had the results from Motobins on a set of bobbins about 6 months ago.

I feel for you guys in Canada; $32 for shipping a pair of seals. I would recommend also replacing the boots while they were apart. I've replaced the seals on my LT several times over the past 15 years of ownership. I finally added a triumph fork protector to hopefully keep the forks clean. I also changed to Hyperpro springs and a little heavier oil. Made a big difference on the bikes handling.

Thanks. Yes, I'm picking up some Rancho gaitors today. I was pricing a 50's package of photo paper last night. it's from an american store called Adorama. $49 if picked up in the states, after shipping. $130 if sent to Canada!
