That's a swoopy looking paint job. I'm just not sure about the color. _________________ '93 K1100LT

Yeah... fully sick paint job...
Sorta Gothic and Zombie mixed together...
But I still can't work out why folks put on the K and N filter... isn't it way worse than stock
Trouble is a bike like that is gonna attract the HEAT...
Fully tropical here.... reckon another cyclone will brew up before long.... |

I like. Would have been better with burnt orange flames, however. _________________ 2000 R1100RT

Yeah maybe some tasteful fangs on the front fender in there too
If you follow the links, the extra pics are way kool. It's being sold for a friend.
I emailed the fella who put the ad in. A very very nice bloke with a long history of Ks including K11RS K12RS KGT and K12LT.
He is a sailor as well.
He has sent me his evaluations of the different K suspension set ups, from a user's point of view, very kind:wink:
All the best folks |

Merlin, as soon as I saw the pic I knew it wouldn't fly with the faithful. Most are ultra conservative, disliking anything that doesn't contribute to function. That's one reason why the marque has a staid image. _________________ 2000 R1100RT

I just gotta have a chuckle there....
Funny thing is though, the Airhead Chat List is pretty much left of centre...
I guess with engineering, it's 'when you are onto a good thing, stick to it' and bmw have done that, but they are also a very innovative mob who have widened the engineering envelope.
The faithful would have been horrified at some of the paintjobs the marque has approved of and fostered...

Merlin & Geoff,
You are right. Our daughter Jen (22 y.o.) wouldn't be caught riding one of our ancient K bikes. She REALLY loves her Kaw ZX6R- just doesn't appreciate classic looks.
And as all of us get, ahem, older.....maybe many of us are not as flashy as we used to be.

I'm pretty sure I thought green flames were ugly when I was 20.
Blue might have been OK. At least you could match it up to the blue in the roundels. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Hi Merlin....
re: ""Funny thing is though, the Airhead Chat List is pretty much left of centre... ""
As an Airhead and a Socialist, I've gotta agree. In fact, many of us are so far left we are now on the right again !
Good luck in OZ, you've had it pretty bad lately !
Oh, and by the way,,, green flames on any bike still suck !

The S1000RR will help change BMW's staid and sedate image. It's just a matter of time before we'll see squids in shorts and flip flops doing burnouts and stand-up wheelies on city streets. _________________ 2000 R1100RT
