Every year there is an extremely informal ride that meets at a particular coffee shop and makes a loop around Manhattan. Given that this will most likely be the last year I will be able to do it...maybe ever I decided it was a must-ride.
Thankfully we were blessed with semi-clear roads and clear skies, temp in the high 40s.
Meet a couple that are avid riders out on the Island and we rode in. Funny, these folks ride 20k+ a year, own 10 bikes (including a GS, Speed Triple, Ducati 998, etc etc and since they got dual sport bikes that's all they ride......hmmmmm) and the hooligan triple was born.
Early birds
This guy was a local, "Bear". Rolled up on this rad rod...complete with hardtail rear, suicide clutch and no brakes. He got off his bike and promptly rolled up a cigarette. Very James Dean.
We tried to get the fat guy to shove off but he just wouldn't leave.
Apparently "snow removal" in Manhattan involves pushing snow out from a side street onto a main road and stopping traffic while they run over it a few times.
Molesting Oprah, fat guy again.
And of course, the real reason I traveled 60 miles in the cold......
.....good coffee. Yeah, in fact it does come with a free vagina. I like my coffee light, aight?
Steak and eggs. Amazingly they were actually better than they look.
Friends. Some I know, some I don't.....yet.
Time to ride!!
Bumble bee version of my old FZ1.
So long, Manhattan. Won't miss you too much. Give me mountains and oceans over the concrete jungle any day.
I can haz street bike soon?
Here's a cool video the couple I was with shot.

Great to see such different bikes together. I'd gladly join you guys for a cup of coffee and some chit-chat! Nice!

Last year you'll be able to do it? Why is that, may I ask? _________________ Carlos
