There was another one like that in the Bay Area that was on some of the shop rides several years ago - a blue one. Seems to be the preferred way to set them up. Having owned a Goldwing hack many years ago based on a normal Aspencade chassis I can see the advantage of the "car tire" and a big spring up front, since you can't really lean anyway and it does so much of the work.
<edit> looking at it closer, and the guy - it may be the same rig. _________________ 2012 R1200RT Midnight Blue

The proper use of a car tire on a bike.
But I've also seen a car tire on the rear of a street bike. What an idiot. _________________ Mike Gullery

That's the same type front end set up I originally had on my EML rig, before I did the center hub steering upgrade.
It works pretty well, even with the old set up on a really twisty road I could surprise some young kids on sport bikes.

Those pics remind me that the K11RS is one of the few BMW bikes since the /2 to actually look pretty damn cool with a side car attached _________________

I chatted with the owner on the phone last week for a bit. He's also got a bunch of extra fuel in the hack and a system that uses the signal from the fuel level sender to replenish the main tank. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
