Thanks. I confess, I did purty it up a bit with a bit of Brasso polish, steel wool, and elbow grease. Came out looking really nice. I know it'd look good on your bike. ha
FYI....I put this ad on the local Austin Craig's List today today too, and have gotten three suspicious 'interested' emails about it. All three appear to be cut and paste non-specific emails and reek of malfeasance. First time I've posted on a Craigslist -- head's up...watch out for the scam-wows out there. _________________

Two more suspicious email inquires came in this evening. Both impersonal to the ad asking me to go to another website and download media plugins. Really now, has anyone here has similar bad spam experiences with posting 'for sales' on CL? _________________

Scammers on CL? You bet.
When I posted my '93 K-RS on CL this past spring I actually got a response that was pretty close to a classic Nigerian 419 scam, right down to the very poor use of present/past tense words.
Selling a bike on CL is easier than smaller items because I specified a CASH SALE, WILL NOT SHIP (local pickup ONLY).
The only way to sell on CL is to specify that you will ship once you receive their funds (the exact amount agreed upon- NO MORE) and those funds clear your bank and the $$$ are in your hand.
Just my experience.

Thanks John. By this time now, I've received seven funky replies to my day old ad. A couple of them had handicap stories to tell. Others were fake CL email alerts to log in my account to verify things.
Yeah, it's a shame these jerks flood the place with their sleaze bag tactics to rob. A person really has to be skeptical of everything. What's that old adage?....believe nothing what you hear and half of what you see. _________________

That's a decent price. I just gave that on EBay a little while ago. Put it on EBay. I out bid a dude by $1. $501.00. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

Someone on the forum here wants one - and was willing to pay quite a bit more than that for the one I ended up not selling... _________________ Jim

Yeah, still have it. Am about to put it on Ebay for BIN price of 500.
I just used a magnet on the Remus.....
Magnet does not stick on the pipes or the muffler, but it does stick on the collector. So, I guess the pipes and muffler are titanium. _________________

Shouldn't have a problem selling it on ebay.
Don't know about the laws over yonder, but here in good old britain-shire we have to have E marked road legal etc etc.
The remus system comes with either a road or race slip on, if yours has a road slip on thats a big plus on the selling front.
The biggest 'against' factor, (which was fortunate for me when I just bought the one I got on ebay here), is that it's a 'performance' exhaust and the K's not a performance bike, i.e. most of the riders aren't interested.
Now i'm not interested in noise or performance gains, (though a slight increase in growl is fine by me as the original is sewing machine quiet), but more along the lines of I want a replacement exhaust and i'll get the cheapest solid one.
Anyhiw, waffling aside, stick it on ebay, that'll get the best market and return I reckon.
I'd have had it myself but for the fact that the shipping would have seen it end up as pricey as a new one. _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, de-briefed or numbered! |

It looks exactly the same as mine which has the "Road Alloy" can. The headers are stainless. Pro's are that its easy to take the can off to get the rear wheel off. Also, for me, the extra growl is great. I took advantage of an Ebay sale where I was the only bidder and means my immaculate OE system will stay that way. _________________ 1980 CB900FA

ditto, my current exhaust works fine. and though i would like to buy the remus for looks, power, and sound, i can't swing another $500 on the bike again this month. best of luck on ebay! _________________ (formerly) 1993 k1100rs |

Hello,

Thanks,
