|
|
Since I replaced my footrest hanger, I've had a wee incident. It appears I may have overstressed the fastener holding the flexi hose from the reservoir, on to the master cylinder.
The bike is still usable, for the short term, so I'm loath to dismantle it, until I'm actually ready to fix it.
My question is about the fastener/clip: is there anything I can use as a replacement fastener? I don't seem to be able to find a jubilee clip capable of tightening sufficiently, ditto for cable ties.
Any suggestions? _________________ Fr Jack

It would help if you could post a picture of the parts you are talking about. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

Here it is, on Motorworks' site:

The hose from the reservoir attaches to the wee pipe. I just can't find a fastener to hold the hose in place. _________________ Fr Jack

What about a small screw clamp from the autoparts store or a few wraps with mechanics wire and a good twist? There is no real pressure there to be concerned with. Maybe just a new piece of hose that fits the spigot.

If I understand what you mean by "screw clamp", then that's a Jubilee clip, here. Tried, no joy. I'll see if I can dig up some suitable wire and have a go.
I seem to have my "mechanical idiot" head on, this week... _________________ Fr Jack

Have a look at the little clamps that are used for the header tank pipes on cars? _________________ David, owner of:
