sadly I smashed my KRS into a trailer on Saturday returning to Calais in France at the last leg of my holiday.
Head stock sheered on impact and the bike took flight.
even sadder - I have my hand pinned and I've snapped tendons, muscle etc in my shoulder and have nerve damage. Presently my shoulder doesn't function and time will tell how much use I will get back. _________________ Currently riding, 93 BMW K1100RS, K6 GSX1300R Hayabusa, 09 Royal Enfield Classic Bullet 500, 77 Kwacky Z650 C1. Hey "B/H"....
I know 'Geordies" are tough, but that sounds like a bad news accident, glad your reasonably OK and on the mend ! Forget the bike, you're the important one, there's always another bike ready to be had and ridden, as soon as you're ready of course !
Get well....eh ?
Very best regards............// Ernie-NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

Terribly sorry to hear this!
When I had my bad accident on of the many things I did was severely traumatize my Brachial plexus nerve bundle in my shoulder, so much so that for weeks after the accident I could only move a few fingers in my left hand and the doctors wanted to pin the left shoulder joint to keep it stable. A brilliant young doctor stopped to see me away from the senior ("it's permanent") doctor who wanted to lock the shoulder joint and told me to give it time to heal and to keep the arm elbow out to aid that. I took his advice and a few weeks later without even realizing it I reached out to get the remote control with my left hand - everyone in the room just froze! It got steadily better over about a year's time and today, ten years later, it works just fine though it will always be a little weaker than the right. To be honest I don't even notice and it has not impacted my return to riding at all.
In my darker moments a few weeks after the crash when things looked really gloomy a friend brought me an old plaque from an old church he had been hired to demolish - it said, "Despair not, for this too shall pass." Man was that true!!! I have been where you are and I can say that you've a tough road ahead with healing and physical therapy but you will heal, and you will get better! Stay positive, stay motivated, and keep your pain meds close at hand _________________

Sad to hear BH, I hope you make a full recovery.
Who was to blame for the accident, what's being done about it ?
Makes my minor incident seem trivial.(Though I'll never get my thumb back.)

BorderHooner, I'm very saddened to hear of this.
I'm a nurse, so with that in mind:
1. Get second opinions if you feel the the answers you are given are not what you want.
2. Physical Therapy is very important.
3. That stool softeners and laxitives as long as you are taking strong pain meds. You'll thank me later.
Last but not least, the mind is the LAST thing to heal and the mental scars from a bad crash can linger for years. Give yourself plenty of time and lots of love.
Seek peace in all things,
