Put new bobbins on the front wheel. Putting the wheel back on the bike and there's about a 1/4" of left/right movement of the wheel on the axle!!!! Obviously I've done something wrong - but what?

Yes. But I notice that the axle doesn't sit flush with the end of the fork where the bolt screws in. _________________ 1997 K1100GT |

Lucky you, I happen to be swapping forks this morning. Here's what it looks like with the axle bolt removed but I haven 't loosened the pinch bolts yet. As you can see, the axle is not supposed to be flush.
Both sides, just for your reference:
Have you messed with the fork brace at all? _________________ 93 LT (x2)

By the way, one thing you'll notice is that the right fork doesn't really have anything holding it a fixed difference from the wheel while the left side does. It's able to "float" on the axle (until you tighten down the pinch bolts of course.) _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I notice that your axle goes in further into the wheel compared to mine. If you look at the plastic cap on the axle end - compare mine to yours. My axle is out further from the fork.
Didn't touch the fork brace. _________________ 1997 K1100GT |
