I think these are really nice bikes too. Here in Portugal they cost between 6,000 US$ (with a bit of luck) and 7,400 US$ (more likely). After about 10 years, they're keeping their value.
Check this '99 one, on sale a couple of months ago for a little bit over 5,900 US$!

I don't think they look that great in pictures but I saw the Boxer one a few years ago and a red one yesterday at the dealer and in person they're the only R bike that really catches my eye. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I had a '99 for around 2 years and really liked the power and handling. I just couldn't make the seat work for me and didn't want to spend $600 (at the time) to see if it could or could not be fixed. Sold it and kind of regret that.

Hey Duck, FYI your first image isn't showing - at least for me. I'm guessing that totalmotocycle doesn't allow hot linking, as I can see the image if I paste the URL into a browser. _________________ David, owner of:

And for whatever reason, it now works for me. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
Maybe it cached from loading it directly via the URL or possibly it was cosmic ray interference. _________________ David, owner of:

I could't see it either. I've tried to open it by pasting the URL on Google, but none of the links shows it. This is the closest image, from a Forum in Slovenia

Close enough to give an idea. And finally, after pasting the URL on Microsoft Word, it opened on a separate window:

Hey Duck, I've had my R1100S for about a year now, since you stole my KRS (did the cops ever catch up?). I am thoroughly enjoying the lighter weight and sportier handling of the S. Mine has an aftermarket pipe and that makes all the difference in the engine. "Try it you'll like it". My only complaint is that I can't get my medium Arai Corsair in the bags. _________________ Paul - '93 K11/12RS (sold), 2002 R1100S BCP and '03 RC51 KOG 29 |
