Check in is at 3:00 PM. Plan your ride to arrive after 3:00 PM.
Check out is officially 10:00 AM Sunday - but the park isn't real tight on that. _________________ Jim

peter and I are heading out tomorrow morning at about 6:30am. Will arrive in evansville, in hopefully around 4:30pm or soon there after. Our ride on thursday will be about the same so we should be well after check-in.
i'm starting to get nervous because of length of ride and age of bikes. Knock on wood it goes well both ways! _________________ (formerly) 1993 k1100rs |

I talked with my friend, and fellow chic-on-a-bike over on ADV Christine who lives just a few miles from HM. She'll be dropping by, but not spending the night. I think you'll like her.

It is with a heavy heart I regret to post this, but I must cancel my weekend trip to HM park.
Professional obligations I need in order to provide for my family have proven inescapable.
The time has long passed when I could say FTW and do what I want.
At 50 yr's old I guess it's time. Still hurts. Hope it always does.
My dearest wife whom let's me go where I want mostly whenever I want, is happy I'm home for the weekend, but sad my professionalism is interferring with my happiness.
Have a cup of coffee on me, I will stare SE ward's every morning this weekend at sun up while walking the dogs, thinking of you all, wishing I was there.
Sell my bunk to someone present, use the funds to feed the group and imbibe at will.
I expect no funds to be returned to me, and await the stories and pictures posted so I may share this years meet form a distance. All the while dreaming of next years meet.
See you down the road......be safe all... ride forever. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

Dates: arrive Thursday, May 20, and depart Sunday, May 23
http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/hun.shtml
google for the park: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=2854+Park+Blvd+24354&sll=37.171856,-75.977752&sspn=0.011934,0.026951&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=2854+Park+Blvd,+Marion,+Smyth,+Virginia+24354&ll=36.881062,-81.525722&spn=0.02729,0.047507&z=15
For the park map: http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/hun.shtml#parkmap - scroll down to "PARK MAP: Click here (PDF) for a map depicting the park's facilities." Of course, you can't click here - but that is where you want to click for the PDF of the park map after you click on the link.
Place: Hungry Mother State Park, Marion VA
Cabins: #10, #12, #13 and #1.
Basically we have 4 cabins that can sleep ~24 people.
Cabins 10, 12 and 13 each have 4 beds in one room and one double bed in one room.
Cabin #1 has two single beds in one room and a double bed in one room. One cot is available for rent, and one person can sleep on the sofa - thus this cabin will sleep two more persons.
Plus there are sofas in each cabin.
Cost: $71 per person for three nights.
Paid as of 3/17/10.

1 = Scott_Anderson
1 = Darryl NZ - Darryl Applegate
1 = Paul Edlington
1 = Ernie-NH - Ernest Duncan
1 = SugarHillCTB- John Strasser
1 = skdonlan - Steven Donlan
2 = WVMSFKRS - Mike and wife (Double bed)
1 = Christopher C - Chris Price aka Smithy
2 = supercat1 - Andrew (and brother - Peter)
1 = RAL88 - Richard Lerner
3 = Audi + 2 - Jim and Dave
1 = Ted
1 = Phil - Phil Marvin
1 = Shoganai - Gwen
= 19
BeemerChik = 20
Toethumbrider - Donnie = 21
Scott Legg (friend of Mike) = 22
Keith - Blue95LT = 23
Cabins #10, 12 and 13 have beds for 6 (2 people in each double bed)
Cabin #1 Sleeps 4 + 1 cot can be rented + sofa = 6
Total = 22 beds + 1 roll away + 1 sofa = 24
OK - after two days of ins and outs, we have reached equilibrium. A couple of people will have to double up in one the double beds (other than those who want a double bed).
Rather than try to assign cabins and beds, I think we'll let people work out sleeping arrangements when we get there. Audi & Company are in cabin 1. _________________ Jim

BUMMER! But yeah, you need to take care of your family first. I hope you can figure out a way to make it next year.
I'd still like to see us have a meet out in the midwest somewhere.
Take care,

peter and I got into evansville, in at 4:30 like I had hoped. no major issues to report. His bike seems to be leaking some oil, but we have 3qts to deal with it. And yeah, my bike is way overclocked on the speedo. Peter's is better callibrated and clearly I have to go faster to be at real highway speeds. _________________ (formerly) 1993 k1100rs |

Paul, Darryl and I are in Pine Grove, Pa for the night. Did 500 miles today, mostly in the rain. Have 375 to go tomorrow. Will take our time and get there around 3.
Any idea about weather at HM for Thursday? _________________ John & Cathy

Back home from California, repacked, and just about ready to go. Gonna get some sleep and sort one electrical gremlin before I head out.
Also, I have a pile of fresh oranges I brought home I'll bring down with me.

Hi,
It's 2:24am Thursday here. I just arrived home (El Paso) from my job in AZ. I have laundry to do and I'll try to sleep a little. I expect to arrive at HM on Friday, probably early to mid-afternoon. I have everything I need to cook spaghetti for the group (including paper plates and plastic knives, forks and spoons) EXCEPT the ground beef and onions. While everyone is riding, I'll do a grocery run into Marion. I'm very happy Gwen can make it! BTW, I'm also bringing a case of XX lager (Mexican beer). _________________ Ride Safe,
