Tried to get the cluster off of my LT earlier this week because my clock is on the fritz and has lost an LCD element in one of the minute digits, The 3mm recessed bolt for the wiring harness connector won't come undone. It just spins and spins.
My plan is to undo the 8 perimeter screws for the cluster backplate and then just bust it off of the last one in the middle bottom that's covered by the wiring harness connector.
Anybody got any better ideas?
And I'll put some anti-sieze on the little bugger when I reinstall. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I have similar happen with other threaded fasteners. Have been able to get them started by applying some pressure while turning at the same time.
I can't imagine that you haven't tried that as well, but trying to pull outward on the connector at the same time as trying to turn the screw might help. _________________ Ride safe.

Oh No!
And NOW you tell me that the LEDs burn out?
I just replaced all the LEDs in your kit last week...
1) Get some help and have somebody apply some pressure on the plug while you unscrew
2) Is the screw broken or stripped and stuck? Here is a hare brained idea: take your allen wrench and superglue it to the bolt. Then try to unscrew it with a drill??

I've already tried different angles and such. I'm pretty sure that the plastic the nut sits in is stripped. Must've gotten a wee bit too tight last time. I'd try a drill but there isn't room.
Not the end of the world if I have to bust up a backplate But I'll see if prying carefully will cause the bottom center screw to strip once the other 8 are out _________________ 93 LT (x2)
