I am looking at getting rid of the fugly antenna and was wondering if anyone else has used a hidden antenna before. If so what are your thoughts and what one did you get.

I took the factory one and just laid it sideways behind the horn mounts inside the fairing. Zip tied it in.
I did this when I installed the radio on the '97 cause I didn't want to drill the hole in the fairing for it.
Doesn't get the best reception but it does work. _________________ Ride safe.

I was lucky to get 2 or 3 stations with my setup. Figured the antenna was the culprit. Then I put in an aftermarket receiver and now get copious stations.
Scott, do you have a factory radio or aftermarket? Since my fairing is off for painting, now would be the time to hide the antenna.

Yes, I've done it. Worked as well as the stock one. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Hey Drake,
Do you know which one you got? I see a lot out there and I'm sure some work better than others.

Well, the radio is factory.
The issue with the antenna......the radio kit that I purchased(from a member no longer with us) came from europe, and it had the powered booster on the one end, so I thought that would help with reception if I buried the antenna in the fairing.
Granted the reception isn't as good as on the '95(external mounted), but it's good enough for me as I usually listen to my ipod anyway.
I've thought about taking it out and putting the original glove box back in. _________________ Ride safe.
