Hi all,
Just been trying to get my bike working. Have just been out in the cold to get fault codes after finding them listed on this forum, and got these:

1133 No signal from Hall Sensor #2 (Lower or 180° Sensor, Coil 2/3)

1122 No signal from Hall Sensor #1 (Upper or TDC Sensor, Coil 1/4)

I don't know where to go from here, any suggestions?

Thanks Smile

Right, I just attempted the TPS test aswell and I didn't have the warning lamp come on at all.
Quote:
You should also be able to watch the temperature warning lamp on the tachometer blink ON at idle and OFF just above idle.

So is this just a TPS problem? and wouldn't it have the 1215 fault code if it was? Evil or Very Mad

I'm getting angry with my bike, lol

The more I read, the more confused I get!...

Quote:
* if you don't start or just very briefly turn the engine, codes 1122 and 1133 will show, which is normal!
according to here.

So maybe those codes don't count seeings how I haven't had the engine started in a while.

Stu - is the bike on the centerstand? Is the sidestand up? Have you flipped the kill switch back and forth enough to clean the contacts?

Does the bike do anything at all? Lights? Fuel pump whine?

Hi Jim,
Bike is on centre stand, side stand switch is bypassed - I have checked this and it's working. Same for kill switch.

When switching on, all dash lights come on and the fuel pump whines as normal.

I've checked spark, fuel filter, fuel pump which all seem ok.

Howdy Stu,
Just take it one step at a time Wink

There is a flow chart for probs, someone may show us the refernce please.

Have you tried rocking the bike in gear?

The ground contacts are notoriously weird, can look OK but be bad.

The first suspect is the main neg earth from the battery, a clean metal contact is best. A resistance check is good here.

Check all earths and clean all connections you can lay your eyes on.

How is your battery? Can be the battery seems good but under load it breaks down, another notoriously deceptive area.

How long has the bike sat Stu?

Others will you with this. Surprised

Hang in there mate.

Thanks Merlin.

I suppose I should have said what happened to begin with...

On Monday 1st of March I was riding it as normal, going through a small town at 20 or 30mph. Then BANG! An almighty backfire behind me, then the bike stopped in the middle of the road.

I thought "That was strange" but started the bike again, started powering up, the bike moved but then died again when I gave it some power so I rolled to the side of the road.

I then spent about 10 minutes trying to start it, it's backfiring all the time and wont start. So I push it to a side road, which is down a steep hill, and try bump starting it to see if that helps. Well I go down the hill, the engine fires up and I ride about 50 metres before it dies again.

I waited about 5 minutes, then tried starting again. It starts! I get on and quickly ride it back up the hill, then kept going for about a mile before it stopped again Sad

And it's not fired up since then. A week and a half.

From all the start attempts I keep draining the battery down, so I'm using my hire bike at the moment with jump leads to try starting mine. So I don't think the battery is the problem.

Thanks

Yup OK Stu Smile

Does sound like a possible electronic / ignition outage of some sort.

You said you have spark at the plugs. Is it a fat blue spark?

The high tension leads from coils to plugs, caps would be worth checking.

Maybe reseat the main computer and check that the connections are clean by unplugging and plugging a few time to clean them.

Probably a good time to get a battery charger and keep the battery well charged as they deteriorate under discharge.

Beyond these simple measures, is out of my depth Embarassed .

This is the best K11 site world-wide and there are gurus that will be reading of your plight and I trust they will be of far more assistance that I am. Wink

What I would do here is to check / clean all connections and especially any / all ground connections especially that main one and wait for more replies.

Your bike is reaching an age where gremlins will come in to the electrics / electronics.

The gurus will want to make sure all possible connections are clean, especially the ground connections and any and all other connections. This is an annual clean job.

So mate, that is all I can say, the bike is willing only some lil thing is out, my hunch is it won't take too much chasing. Very Happy

All the best and keep hanging in there, don't lose heart, I trust help will come to you on this forum .

Wink

Thanks mate,
The spark was blue when I did it, not sure how to define fat - I'll try it again after work and take a video.

Have just been out to do a TPS test with a volt meter.

At idle it's at 9.17V and when I pull the throttle back it changes to 0.17V

I'm gonna check all the connections, I do regularly inspect and clean then with an electrical contact cleaning spray as I had a problem before with the motronic plug.

Right, I was doing the voltage readings wrong earlier..

Have just done it again.

At Idle, the voltage, across pins 1 and 4 of the TPS connector, is 1.07V at idle, and at full throttle 4.64V

Unfortunately for me, it only led me to "Fuel injection is OK". So I'm still none the wiser Sad

Still, can't be much left that I haven't checked, lol

You are right Steve, when I get my printer I'll print it. Thanks to Ted for digging it up again Wink

Yup Stu, I guess we just have to wait for a guru to stick their head in and give some more clues.

Could be HES but I am a noobie and am just guessing that it's ignition. Please check that main earth ground and the connectors both ends Crying or Very sad .

Keep your head up Very Happy
