I have a 1985 K100RT with 93K.(no pictures). It was my main bike for 10 yrs. till I purchased my 97K11LT. Just before I purchased the LT, I painted the RT BMW Red and adjusted the valves. 3 years ago, I purchased a new FJR, so the RT gets ridden occasionally. I have kept the RT because I had thoughts about riding it from FL to WI and leaving it there to use when visiting family. With the short riding season and a changing family situation, I have finally decided it just doesn't make sense to do that.
Anyway, it is still a good old bike and I won't be afraid to take off cross country with it. The paint is good. Aluminum cleans up ok. The engine uses no oil where my LT does!!! I made the mistake of using crappy BMW spline lub in the late 90's and later had to replace the final drive and driveshaft. Also, something broke and locked up the transmission, so it now has a sweet shifting 1992 transmission. Has medium radial tires. Fuel pump and rear shock have been replaced.
Your thoughts would be appreciated. I know it's a tough economy. JR |

The stock seat has been recovered and is in good condition. I also have a 2 Corbins, one deep bucket with a backrest. They are starting to show their age.
The topbox has never been used it my me, so it's like new.
The saddle bag outside covers are very good. The back cases are scratched alittle. |

| FWIW, I paid $2200 for my '85 K100RT last month. Original system cases, some light wear all around, Sargent seat and Fox shock, and a Supertrapp muffler on board. I'm not disappointed, though there are a few things that need fixing before it's back up to an "A" grade bike. |

If the bike looks good, rides well and the maintenance is documented I would say, at least around here, an asking price of $3,300 or so would get it out the door pretty quickly. As you already know, the warmer the days are the higher the price you will get If you put it on the IBMWR list (and ignore the overseas/scam offers) and the MOA Classifieds you might move it quicker. _________________
