94 LT with 48k. Here's a picture the seller sent me. I've paid for it and arranged a good deal for shipping in February.

The main wiring harness is fried and melted though. The dealer quoted the owner $2k+ to replace with no guarantee it wouldn't happen again so he decided to sell it and get another bike instead of throwing money at this thing.

I've got a good used 95 wiring harness in the basement. Hopefully I can swap that in and get things sorted out. If not then it's a parts bike.

Judging from the cleanliness of that garage and his other toys, I'd bet that K is in great shape, less the wiring. Wonder if it was the heated grip issue that toasted it?

I'm determined to bring it back to life. WAY too much potential for a parts bike. I'll have an idea of what the issue is then.

I don't actually get my hands on it until March. I got a good deal on shipping because it works into the shipper's schedule when he's delivering another bike to Eugene, OR then. He's picking it up on Feb. 6 and then keeping in his storage building until then. I"m in no hurry though since I've got other projects in the fire between now and then.

It's halfway home. I found a good deal on shipping and told the shipper I was extremely flexible on dates. ($500 from South Carolina to Seattle.) He picked it up on Saturday and it's now at the shipper's storage in Wisconsin. It gets delivered sometime in March when he takes another bike to Eugene.

If you like I can go check on it for you.
The shipper is insured right? Wink

Sure does. When I got my 93 LT I didn't feel like doing the valves so I swapped some speedo parts to have a local indy wrench do them for me. He picked up and delivered in his pickup. Can't remember if it was a long bed or not. Probably was.

Easy peasy fit into PU truck.
But, for a midnight auto / MC salvage pro, a 16' box van provides cover and ease of loading.

Long story, last very bad recession, 1980 ish.

Me thinks the dry humor may have been missed. Wink

I picked up my '93LT in my S10 Chebby with a 6' bed. The rear tire was right at the bed/tailgate intersection. Bike was straight in, not on an angle. I adjusted the ratchet straps after about 15 minutes and then then they were good to go the rest of the way. Northern Alabama to North east Ohio. 21 hours round trip non-stop. Must have been nuts. I think I had a weeks worth of coffee in me by the time I got home.

If you remove screen, aerial & top box, A K1100 will fit in a Toyota Hi-ace (Power Van) 7'9" from bulkhead to tailgate. Also if you do the above and compress the front forks slightly, it will fit a short wheelbase Ford Transit, the screen horns do scrape the roof sections, if not perfectly vertical, still that stops it falling over Laughing

Well, after nearly four months it finally arrived today.

(I was told it would be delivered in March sometime. I didn't really care though and this timing is about perfect given weather and other things on my plate so I look at it as $500 for cross-country shipping and four months of storage.)

It's a little dirty from the trip but should shine up quite nicely. Under the dirt, it's cosmetically in excellent shape for a 48k bike. No scratches on the mirrors either.

In a week or two, I'll start tearing it down and have a go at swapping in a good wiring harness. Hopefully I can make it a runner.

I like the color better than my green LT. If I get it's wiring problems figured out then I might sell the green one.
