IF you could find someone skilled enough to be able to do it. Older skills such as that type of masonry work are becoming a lost art here in America.
Beautiful as it is it's a shame we can't have any of that here. |
Scott you have no idea. I have literally spent over a month in Brasil and seen the workers placing the stones. Outside in public places, on sidewalks, roads and interior work with tile, etc.
This is my wifes town, Araras.
Notice the transformation from the road to the sidewalk to the black/white stones in the private driveway on the left. Unreal!

Hi, Gui,
Marian, my daughter, was just a little bit bigger when she had her first ride. She would sit on the bike (R100RS) with her feet dangling down. We told her that when her feet reached the footpegs (even folded up), she could go for a ride. I think she was 4 or 5 when she had her first ride around the block. She is now 26 and has the motorcycle endorsement on her license. Unfortunately, where she lives in Dallas is not a good place to keep a motorcycle. The '94 K75A/3 was her mother's and will be hers as soon as she lives where the bike would not be stolen or vandalized in a couple of weeks. _________________ Ride Safe,

Gui,
You have some beautiful country there. Nice roads too- at least the paved roads. Thanks for the pictures.

Yes, Steve, that's the same bike!!
Maybe this year I could make a international trip, I don't know.
And you is always welcome in my country and house.
Here in Brazil we are having a lot of rain every day.....so, the bike is almost hibernating in the garage.
Take care.

Rain? That stops you from riding? Come on!!
My bikes are covered in snow at the moment - looking quite sad! I'm hoping I can get out on them before the w/e; I've got withdrawal symptoms!!
Be great to see you this year one way or the other! _________________ Cheers, Steve H _______________________________________

Oh man Gui thanks for putting this out there...been meaning to, but since we got back Paula and I have moved to a new house....you never realize how much crap you have until you have to move.
I have a few great pics as well...will upload when we dig them out of the boxes we are living out of.
Was a pleasure to see you again and meet your beautiful wife Adrianna and her mother.
(Notice me representing the KOG shirt...and yes it was pouring rain when we went out to dinner!) _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

A HA!!
Dave, been hiding out in Brazil with Gui?? Excellent. I would imagine that you and Paula had a great vacation WAY down south.
But what's with the new digs? New home? Moving is a true PITA- we should know. Cathy and I have done THE MOVE 9 times in the past 29 years.
Happy New Year. Hope for lots of miles in 2010.
HM?

Hi, folks!
Last weekend, I took the road to Teresópolis, a city in the Rio de Janeiro' mountains.
We went in a group of 3 bikes, me with the KLT, Nagai with the Electra and Furlam with the GS1200.
Next to the Orgâos Mountains.
In Teresópolis we have the best Russian food restaurant in Brazil, the Dona Irene. We drunk a lot of homemade vodka....
Here Adriana, Rosa and Terezinha.
And in the 3° day, heading back to São Paulo. 1450km.
The beautifull Fluminense Mountains.
That's it!
