| Hi,this is my first day on your site and I am enjoying the forums. I live in southeast West Virginia and currently we have a 99 F650,93 K1100LT,86 K75C and a 03 KAW 250 Ninja. We both ride and enjoy the Blueridge Parkway and the motorcycle campgrounds. Hope to meet some other members in the future. Is there a K1100 Rally somewhere in 2010,in the east?? Thanks,Jim |

Hi Jim - welcome to K11OG!
We don't really have rallies, but some of us do manage to get together. Check out the Meetings forum. Some of us are getting together near Marion, VA at Hungry Mother State Park (probably not too far from you) this May. You're welcome to join us.
If you want to get more riding in, there's also a meet in the north east, and another in the north west. _________________ Jim

Good morning K75 ( aka: Jim ??? )
Welcome to K11OG and please accept this as your first "dire warning" re pics, background, full details etc !!!
Check out Meetings re the HM-lll get together in May... as a new member, you will be expected to be there, and bear the full burden of supplies and entertainment !!
Lastly.... there are entirely too many "Jims" on this forum to keep straight. Something will have to be done... perhaps Jedadiah or Eziekiel would be good? Please consider any suggestions ?

Teaser!!
I is froze in.
But! May try to push her out & take a pic this weekend. Have not been able to ride for 30 days now, kinda bummed.
If the roads clear of ice, I'll be out. Too snotty wet right now, roads, not me, but I'm missing my K.
The pic was the morning I left for TN this July. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

Well, if anyone visits in El Paso, I have 2 K75's. It does get cool here, but very little snow and ice, compared to you who are farther north. _________________ Ride Safe,

If you still had your manhood then you'd still have three K bikes.
(Just yanking your chain. It was great to meet you in meatspace this year. I hope you make it this summer as well.)

Hi, Drake,
A friend called me Christmas Day and told me he is giving me his '85 K100RT which has been sitting in his garage for the past 10 or so years. It has never been down and has 20K+ miles on it. It will take some work and $$$ to get running and roadworthy, but it will bring me back to 3 BMW bikes! I'm in the process of getting a trailer hitch for my Accord (I have a 1-rail trailer) so I can drive to Raleigh, NC to pick it up and bring it back to El Paso.
I hope you haven't forgotten how to trap and cook Dungee, because I haven't forgotten how to get to your place. Nor have I forgotten how to cook spaghetti sauce! _________________ Ride Safe,

The Phil Marvin "Santa Claus" picture still remains one of the best and mostest funniest this site has even seen!
Happy New Year Phil! You are the Pied Piper of K-Bikes!!! (has anyone put on close to what mileage you did this year?) _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Hi, Dave,
I shortened the beard a lot a few weeks ago, so I didn't look too much like Santa Claus, at least in the beard dept. The belly dept. is another subject! As for mileage, I only rode 22428 miles during the mileage contest. Many have ridden more. I did apply for the BMW Motorrad 300k award. I received the 200k award in 1999 and, when I added up the mileage to date, it was 388k. So I sent my mileage to Lone Star BMW and expect to have the 300k plaque soon. I also sent the info to Tony Black, the BMWMOA mileage coordinator, so I may get that one, too.
Nothing is etched in stone for 2010. Since I am retarded, er, retired and don't think I'll be called back to work at the mine, I plan to ride to the Blitz to Branson, HMIII, BMWMOA national rally (maybe), Hungry Dungee II, and Hungry Lobsta II. Other than that, I don't know. I have a good friend, ex-BMWMOA Ambassador, in Mexico City. Having lived and ridden in Mexico (and speaking the language), I really enjoy riding there. The drug wars do bother me and, because of that, I haven't headed South for a couple of years. I might ride down to visit him. Plus, I belong to the American Legion Post#2 in Mexico City, and I haven't been there since 2005.
Dave, I hope to see you (and many of you reading this) on my travels this coming year. And if any of you are coming to, through or near El Paso, let me know!
And finally, to all of you, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! _________________ Ride Safe,

Same to you Phil plus the others from HL (Dave, Jim and Scott) and all the folks from K11OG that I have met over the past 2 years both in person and here. Hope to meet some of you in person at HMSP.
Best wishes for the New Year with lots of safe miles. _________________ John & Cathy
